THE CAMPGROUND CUP
Starting in 2023, both Masters and Backyard teams can compete in their own “Campground Cup” — the official championship of the Campground BBQ Series. This opportunity will be open to teams who compete in at least (5) Masters or (3) Backyard Campground BBQ Series KCBS contests. The best scores will be counted (5 for Masters and 3 for Backyard) and at the end of the season, the following 5 teams will win (1) complimentary entry into a 2024 Campground BBQ contest for their respective contest type. We are working on gaining additional prizes from industry partners for these awards.
MASTERS — 1st Place overall [“King/Queen of the Campground”]
MASTERS — 11th Place overall [“Wild Child”]
MASTERS — Last Place overall [“DAL But Still Kicking”]
BACKYARD — 1st Place overall [“King/Queen of the Campground”]
BACKYARD — Last Place overall [“DAL But Still Kicking”]
BONUS POINTS will be added to the final overall season score for the total number of Campground Masters/Backyard contests plus One-Meat Contests (i.e. “Master of Chicken/Ribs”) in which teams compete: 10 points for each Masters/Backyard Contest, and 5 points for each One-Meat Contest. As an example, if your Masters team competed in 10 Masters contests, and 4 Master of Ribs contests, then your best five contest scores would form the base for your Campground Cup score, plus 100 bonus points (10 contests x 10 points each) for the number of contests, plus 20 bonus points (4 x 5 points each) for the One-Meat contests.
